ROTARY PROJECTS

The Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope is based in the Deep South of the most southern tip of the beautiful Cape Peninsula, and it is in this area, between the two oceans, that we support and work with the communities and try to make a difference.

Our two local communities in most need of help are Masiphumelele and Ocean View and we also try to see to the needs of the other indigent folk in Fish Hoek and beyond as well.

Schools

Dreams do Come True  –  Rotary connects the World is our Rotary theme this year,  and we connected with the LSEN School in Ocean View and fulfilled their long-awaited dream when we presented each of the (20) team members with a new boots & socks and matching yellow and blue Soccer shirt and pants. The school coach received two water carriers with bottles, training bibs, goal keeping gloves and four brand new soccer balls.

This was all made possible by a generous donation from the RC of Claremont thanks to the connection made by Bev Frieslich following an appeal by the (VDP) Valley Development Projects Open Door, Social worker, Julie Rubain, who recognised this dire need of these disabled learners. The Claremont Rotary Club was keen to show their tangible appreciation of the support given every year by the Ocean View Community by manning a watering table in Kommetjie Road of the Cape Cycle Tour route.

Our Club is heavily involved with the various projects of Valley Development Project (VDP) with two of our Rotarians serving on the Board of VDP.
